Motorhome area of Bouaye

Between Nantes (18 km) and Pornic (30 km), Bouaye is an old fishing village located on the Grand-Lieu lake’s shores, one of the most beautiful wetlands in Europe. The best way to explore and understand the second largest bird sanctuary in France (more than 270 species) after the Camargue is to visit the Maison du Lac de Grand-Lieu. A visit in three stages will guide you through exhibitions, a walking path (possible with a guide) and finally the pavilion with its observation terrace. The lake will then reveal its exceptional biological wealth. The Mevellière park (accessible on foot from the area) is a very popular place for a walk in nature. Enjoy a pleasant and relaxing moment in the heart of this luxuriant nature. During your walk, you will also find a pond and a castle (closed to the public). In July and August, don’t miss the Voyage à Nantes! Many events are organised to enjoy the works displayed in the city. All year round, the green line traced on the ground will lead you to permanent or temporary works. Among these heritage elements and other curiosities to be admired: Japanese garden, Château des Ducs de Bretagne, Miroir d’Eau (water mirror), Buren’s rings, the Machines de l’île and the Grand Elephant, the Hermitage belvedere… Stroll along the Erdre and the Loire while enjoying the terraces… To reach Nantes, take the bus from Bouaye station, then take tram 3 from the Neustrie stop.
