Follow the straight towpath under the plane trees until you cross the La Chevallerais lock to reach the medieval town of Blain.

This exceptional stage plunges you into Breton history, between medieval towns, legends, and characterful villages. From the majestic town of Josselin to the flower-filled alleys of Lizio, via the lakeside shores in Ploërmel, the route offers a rich blend of charm and diversity.

D'Evellys à Saint-Goazec par Pontivy et le lac de Guerlédan: Reach the great junction of Pontivy where the canal crosses the Blavet. Pedal along the Hilvern feeder channel to bypass the spectacular Lake Guerlédan, then cross Mur-de-Bretagne and Glomel (the highest point of the canal with its grand cutting). Then descend the locks of the Aulne valley to arrive at Saint-Goazec.

Gateway to Finistère, Saint-Goazec captivates with its steeper terrain and lush green setting bordered by the Aulne. It is here that the canal takes on the appearance of a wild river, winding at the foot of the mystical hills of inland Brittany.

De Saint-Goazec à la presqu'île de Crozon par Châteaulin: Follow the wild meanders of the canalised Aulne winding between the hills to Châteaulin, marking the end of the freshwater canal and the beginning of the estuary. Cross the Térénez bridge, a true architectural feat, then take the signposted cycle paths of the Armorican network to cross the Parc Naturel Régional d'Armorique and emerge onto the magnificent Crozon peninsula.

To round off this great journey, the Crozon peninsula offers a striking natural spectacle. Between monumental cliffs, turquoise waters, and wild heather moorlands, the cycling route ends in the most beautiful way facing the immensity of the Iroise Sea.
