Start your magnificent Jura escape to the land of lakes and great mountains in the commune of Thoirette-Croisia!

Enter the land of lakes and mountains, and visit Gigny Abbey, a remarkable Romanesque monument founded around 890. 

Looking for a nice walk or hike? You can go to the Fays belvedere, starting from the abbey. 

Then discover the source of the Suran river at Loisia, 10km away, and its statue of the goddess Epona, discovered in 1860.

And for a panoramic view of the Haut Jura and the Suran valley, head for the hamlet of Bois-du-Ban, 3km away!

From April to December, the Caborde wine-growing and cultural area welcomes you to its 5,000 m2 picnic area. Exhibitions, events and screenings are offered on four levels.

You can discover many charming villages in the vicinity, such as

- Saint-Amour and its hidden History treasures,

- Orgelet (approx. 30km), with its church, the house of the french cheese "La vache qui rit", and its a wide choice of leisure activity

- Louhans (20km away), with its poultry market every Monday morning, where 250 stallholders sell their wares, and its apothecary. 

End your stay in Marigny, at the foot of the splendid Lac de Chalain and less than 10km away, admiring the panoramic view from the belvedere at Fontenu.

For even more 100% natural beauty, discover the Hedgehog waterfall, the Billaude waterfall, Bonlieu lake and the marmites of Point de Poitte (about 20km away).
