Tourism / Discovery

City of medieval origin created around the year 1000, Saint-Junien had time to fortify many buildings. Medieval or religious monuments, traditional buildings, bourgeois residences and 19th century architecture: this small town of 11,000 inhabitants is rich in heritage! Every seven years Saint-Junien celebrates its two hermits, Junien and Amand, during the ceremonies of the Ostensions. The city welcomes on this occasion tens of thousands of visitors who come to admire the 1500 extras and the sumptuous decorations of the city center.

Saint-Junien is also world famous for its arts and crafts around leather and the manufacture of gloves. The exceptional savoir-faire of its glove-makers and tanneurs gives this product a luxurious and unique character.

This destination, located at the gates of the Regional Natural Park Périgord-Limousin, also offers several mountain biking trails. Two of them pass at the foot of the area: The trails "chez le geai" and "les Aubespins". As for hiking, several circuits allow you to discover the region, its nature and its heritage. Saint-Junien is a dynamic city that offers many activities: The Aïgua Bluia aquatic centre, the Corot protected site along the river, treasure hunting trails, a mini-golf course, etc.
