Tourism / Discovery

Stay in Lunery, a small green village by the Cher river, in the heart of Berry, in the Bourges (20 km) - Vierzon - Issoudun triangle.

The Cher Valley, one of the main tributaries of the Loire, offers many hiking trails. This quiet river with its varied landscape is also the ideal playground for fishermen.
The Patouillet site is of great botanical interest: a 1.5 km educational trail enables you to learn about nearly 300 plant species, including 22 orchid species. Some of them are protected at regional but also national level!
Discover the working-class town of Rosières where the famous household appliance brand of the same name was born and whose logo is a stylized rose. The village, modelled on the corons (rows of houses) has a foundry museum (run by volunteers). On the premises of the former parish, do not miss the third place Le Cercle (street-art exhibition, irregular heritage of France, recycling...)

With its castles, gardens and monuments, Berry, also known as the « Coeur de France », has an exceptional natural and cultural heritage. Among the must-sees is the majestic Bourges Cathedral (Cathédrale Saint-Etienne de Bourges), a masterpiece of Gothic art and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Palais Jacques Coeur is also emblematic of the city, considered as one of the most beautiful civil Gothic buildings in France.
About thirty kilometres from Lunery, the Abbey of Noirlac is also a typical site to visit during your stay in the Berry province.

Another feature much appreciated by the inhabitants of Berry and its visitors is the food and wine! The region is full of gastronomic restaurants that will make you taste the specialities: the « Berrichon pie » (also called « Easter pie »), the hash browns, the « citrouillat » (pumpkin pie), « pâté aux pommes de terre »…
