Tourism / Discovery
Near Menton (20 km) and Nice (40 km), Sospel is a historic town in the heart of the Bévéra valley, in the Mercantour National Park. Enjoy your stay between mountain and sea, next to the Italian border and only 15 kilometers from the Mediterranean.
To the delight of travellers, Sospel has kept its charm of bygone days. While wandering through the city, admire trompe l’oeil, Gothic houses, cobbled streets, archways, a washing place, fountains… You will definitely travel back in time! Visit the Saint-Michel cathedral, which overlooks a decorated square.
Benefit from the surrounding nature by hiking, cycling or even horse riding along the paths. Sospel is at the crossroads of three long-distance hikes: GR52, GR52A and GR 8 Valleys trail. True paradise for hikers, the Mercantour National Park and the Valley of Marvels offer breathtaking landscapes. Enjoy these hikes all year round, just like other outdoor activities: canyoning, rafting, kayaking, canoeing…
Sospel is an ideal stopover to appreciate the hinterland of Menton, its picturesque villages and its walks in nature.
