90 km from the French Riviera, Isola is a charming mountain village nestled in a green setting at 870 m altitude. Beautiful walks await you in the village, which has cobbled streets, large stone houses, but also wash houses, a communal oven, a grain mill and numerous fountains. Located at the entrance of the village, don’t miss the Romanesque bell tower of Saint-Pierre, a great example of Lombard architecture. To discover the former flagship economic activity of the destination, follow the « Canal de la Châtaigneraie trail ». During this walk you will see huge trees that are more than a hundred years old! It ends with a spectacular viewpoint. Isola is located at the entrance of the Mercantour National Park and offers many opportunities for hiking in nature.
