Motorhome area of Challans (Vendée)

Challans has plenty of green areas for lovely walks, whether in the town centre with the Parc de la Sablière, the Bois du Breuil or the Coursaudière garden, or on the outskirts with the Bois des Bourbes, the Parc de la Juisière or the Parc des Mélières. The pathways of La Lande, La Boutine and Les Chevreuils will take you close to farms and other remarkable ecological sites in the countryside. The harbour of La Louippe in Bouin (24 km) is one of the wildest and most picturesque in Vendée. A popular haven for pleasure sailors, its fisheries provide the perfect backdrop for a stroll. With its varied landscapes between land and sea, the ‘maraîchine’ culture is widespread in the region. Discover all these local traditions through the ‘bourrines’, traditional dwellings of Vendée and festivities, such as ‘Autrefois Challans’, a convivial gathering reenacting the 20th century. To fully admire the Vendée landscapes, marshes, dunes, forests and surrounding islands, head for Kulmino (20 km from the motorhome stopover). The tower offers a breathtaking view 70 metres above the ground. Binoculars and orientation tables will help you capture every detail of this magnificent horizon.
