Les Salaisons de l'Adour are present three times a week, at lunchtime or in the evening, at the stopping places.
They offer Basque cakes with black cherry jam and almond cream. These cakes are made by Jérôme, a craftsman for over 25 years. They are homemade every day before you pass through the area, without any colouring or preservatives.
New for 2021: salted country ham! Produced at the Salaisons de l'Adour, at the foot of the Pyrenees, it is matured for 14 months and sold in 80g tubs.

About thirty kilometers from Tarbes, Maubourguet is a village in bloom of the Adour Valley. This stopover town ideally located between the mountains and the Atlantic is rich in discoveries and walks in nature.
Enjoy a quiet stay in the middle of green plains and waterways with many fishing spots. As you stroll through the town and along the Adour or Echez rivers, discover a picturesque heritage: mills, old buildings, wash houses... Maubourguet is also an emblematic stopover on the way to Santiago de Compostela and is situated as the crossroads of two paths: the GR 653 to Compostela and the GR 101 to Lourdes. It is definitely a prime destination for hiking lovers and pilgrims!
Just a stone’s throw from the campsite, the Maubourguet Archaeological and its superb mosaic of the Ocean god leads its visitors through 200 000 years of history. Interesting and beautiful artefacts from prehistory to the Middle Ages can be discovered.
For a relaxing time, head to the open-air swimming pool and its three bathing areas.
Before leaving town, try its specialities! In terms of pastries, try a « Tarbais », a « Russe » or a « Lys ». Also, a wide range of red and white wines is the pride of the inhabitants of Adour Valley, who have developed quality designations: Saint-Mont, Madiran, Pacherenc and Vic Bilh. Foie gras and duck breast, typical of this region, can be picked up directly from the farm! Some other specialities you should taste: the South-West melon, cassoulet, Tarbais beans…
