Tourism / Discovery

La Roque-sur-Cèze is one of France's most beautiful villages. It is in the Cèze valley, in the Gard department. It is surrounded by vineyards. From the site, just cross the Charles Martel bridge (a historic monument) to stroll through paved streets. Castle ruins and a Roman chapel look down on charming provincial houses. The whole village is pedestrian only. Houses crowd round the medeival castle. Climb up to the parish church to see a lovely view of the rooftops and the valley !
