Tourism / Discovery
Nestled in the magnificent Languedoc countryside 30 km east of Carcassonne, Homps is a rare gem that is well worth a visit for those seeking authenticity and charming villages.
The renowned Canal du Midi, a World Heritage Site, runs through the village. A true marvel of engineering, the canal is perfect for a peaceful stroll, a bike ride or even a boat trip.
For those who want to unwind and enjoy the water, head to the beach on Lake Jouarres, just a few metres from the campsite. Enjoy a relaxing swim or go canoeing or windsurfing! The lake is also an excellent fishing spot.
Make the most of your stopover in the Languedoc to discover the many vineyards and wine cellars in the region. Taste some excellent local wines, such as Minervois and Corbières. The winemakers will be delighted to share their know-how and passion with you.
