The beach at Contis, which is within walking distance, is renowned in the region for its sand and blue water. Just a stone's throw from the beach, you can admire the only lighthouse in the Landes: the Contis lighthouse. Located in Sainte-Marie Abbey, it is thought to have been built in the 12th century. It is now an essential stage on the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela via the Soulac Way, an alternative route to the four main French routes used since the 12th century.
