Motorhome area of Vézac (Dordogne)

Vézac is a small village on the banks of the Dordogne located in the ‘’Valley of the 5 Châteaux’’, at the gates to Sarlat, capital of the Périgord Noir. This must-see destination is famous for its large number of historic monuments listed as National Heritage: no less than 66 sites on 11 hectares. Vézac is situated next to the village of La Roque-Gageac, classified as one of the ‘’Most Beautiful Villages in France'’. This is the perfect occasion to admire the golden houses and their flatstones and typical brown tile roofs, typical of the Périgord Noir. Nestled at the foot of the cliff, observe the village from a canoe on the meandering Dordogne. You can almost catch a glimpse of the Château de Malartrie directly from the motorhome stopover. Built in the 18th century, it is inspired by Renaissance architecture. The singer, dancer and actress Joséphine Baker spent part of her life in the Dordogne valley. In 1937, the committed artist settled in the Château des Milandes, about 10 km from the motorhome stopover.
