Motorhome area of Azay-sur-Thouet (Deux Sèvres)

While visiting the Deux-Sèvres department, make a stop in the rural town of Azay-sur-Thouet. 40 km from Niort and 10 km from the medieval town of Parthenay, the village is located on the Thouet banks and has a pretty heritage as well as a green setting to be discovered. 4 hikes allow you to learn more about the destination: Le Renard (10,5 km), La Tortue (3,5 km), Le Pigeon (7,5 km) and Le Lièvre (14 km). Discover there the Saint-Hilaire church, which a large part dates back to the Middle Ages, the Notre-Dame de l’Agenouillée chapel, the numerous bridges and the two wash houses, one of which being near the campsite. For a walk in nature, a picnic or a fishing trip, you should definitely go to the communal pond located a few minutes walk from the campsite. Between Azay-sur-Thouet and Secondigny, the hike « Le Moulin des Prés » (10,5 km) will lead you to the mills while following the river. Beautiful villages in the surroundings are worth a visit, all classified as « Petites Cités de Caractère »: Faymoreau, Saint Loup Lamairé, Foussais Payré and Airvault.
