Motorhome area of Ussel (Corrèze)

Halfway between Clermont-Ferrand and Brive-la-Gaillarde, Ussel (capital of Haute-Corrèze) is nestled on the borders of Auvergne and Limousin. With its churches and houses dating from the 16th and 17th centuries, the town is a fine reflection of Corrèze’s medieval past. In the old town center, pass the Maison Ducale des Ventadour, a beautiful Renaissance mansion built from the stones of the old ruined castle. Discover the interior of this former residence appreciated by the Dukes de Ventadour. If you carry on walking, you will pass the charming Pelauds fountain (Place Joffre) and the Roman eagle (Place Voltaire). To learn more about the destination: visit the Pays d’Ussel museum! Opposite the campsite, the Ponty lake and its 18 hectare pond (swimming prohibited) offers all sorts of leisure activities: fishing, playground, mini-golf, but also mountain bike hire, archery, orienteering course and canoeing. This exceptional natural setting between lake and forest can also be explored on foot thanks to a vast network of hiking trails.
