Halfway between Clermont-Ferrand and Brive-la-Gaillarde, Ussel (capital of Haute-Corrèze) is nestled on the borders of Auvergne and Limousin.
With its churches and houses dating from the 16th and 17th centuries, the town is a fine reflection of Corrèze’s medieval past. In the old town center, pass the Maison Ducale des Ventadour, a beautiful Renaissance mansion built from the stones of the old ruined castle. Discover the interior of this former residence appreciated by the Dukes de Ventadour. Opposite the campsite, the Ponty lake and its 18 hectare pond (swimming prohibited) offers all sorts of leisure activities: fishing, playground, mini-golf, but also mountain bike hire, archery, orienteering course and canoeing.
