Enjoy a stay in the peaceful village of Goulles, located in the Dordogne valley, near two medieval sites: the towers of Carbonnières and Merle.
Enter the dense forest (less than 5 km from the motorhome stopover) on the border of Corrèze and Cantal to admire the towers of Carbonnières, the remains of a feudal fortress (11th and 14th centuries) in the middle of nature.
Find the towers of Merle (National Heritage Site) in the Maronne gorges, an impressive feudal monument with 7 towers (for the 7 lords) perched on a rocky outcrop overlooking the forests of the Xaintrie and the river.
Follow the ‘’Chemin de Merlin’’ to link the two monuments by a 10 km loop (4h round trip).
Many other walking or cycling trails to the forest start from the village. Follow them and explore the unspoilt landscape of the Xaintrie.
A few labelled villages are to be visited in the vicinity: Carennac, Loubressac and Autoire (40 km) and Curemonte (50 km).
