Situated 20 km south of Cherbourg, Bricquebec-en-Cotentin is an absolutely charming Norman village with typical wooded countryside and sunken lanes, meadows full of apple trees and also a footpath much appreciated by hiking enthusiasts. The Vélomaritime (EuroVelo 4) is a cycle route passing through Bricquebec, offering you the chance to cycle towards Cherbourg to the north or Saint-Sauveur-le-Vicomte to the south! In both directions, the scenery is very pleasant for a ride in the heart of nature. The "Petite Cité de Caractère" label gives the town of Bricquebec-en-Cotentin an imposing medieval atmosphere, with its fortified castle dominating the town centre. Its inner courtyard has retained its walls and 14th-century keep. Reach the cycle and footpaths directly from the castle for walking or cycling strolls. They will take you through the town and its surroundings, introducing you to its landmarks: the Nôtre-Dame-de-Grâce abbey, the Longbost forest or the Perques church.
