Halfway between Strasbourg and Colmar, Dambach-la-Ville is a lovely medieval city of Alsace particularly appreciated for its colourful half-timbered houses, its vineyards and its typical heritage. Among this emblematic heritage, visit the fortified gates and the Saint-Sébastien chapel overlooking the city. The Berstein castle also offers a breathtaking view, but over the Alsace plain this time. A path leads you to it (careful, it is a steep one!).
While being in the heart of the Alsace wine route and the Castles and Fortified Cities of Alsace, visit a wine cellar and taste the seven grape varieties of the region. Discover the city in a fun way during summer with the little train. Thanks to the explanations (in French and German) of a wine-grower, learn more about the town, its history and vineyard.
At the end of the year, the magic of Christmas comes to the Alsacian cities! From the end of November, discover and admire some of the most famous Christmas markets in France: Starsbourg (50 km) and Colmar (30 km). The one in Dambach-la-Ville takes place over a weekend in December.
For a moment with family, observe the world’s most amazing birds of prey by going to the Volerie des aigles at the Kintzheim castle. Numerous events are organised there every year. A little further away (50 km), find the large theme park: Europapark!
