Bordered by the river of the same name, which gives it a peaceful atmosphere, the town has excellent shopping facilities, making it ideal for exploring the region. In the mood for cycling? The pilgrims' route to Santiago de Compostela passes through the centre of the town. The region is also renowned for its gastronomy. You will be able to try quality local produce, such as Sainte-Maure-de-Touraine, a PDO cheese. There are many monuments to discover in the old town. Admire the stained glass windows in the church of Saint-Laurent, the Augustins Convent or the Romanesque frescoes in the Chapelle Saint-Gilles, dating from the 12th century.
