40 kilometers from Lorient, have a stay in the Roi Morvan country, a destination combining nature and history which will charm you with its hiking trails and monuments. Between the countryside and the forest, many trails are accessible. On foot, on bike or even on horseback, signposted trails from 5 to 23 kilometers are showing you the abundant nature. Le Faouët is surrounded by three rivers: the Aer, the Inam and the Ellé, at the foot of the area. Stroll alongside the calm rivers, renowned for their density of salmon and trout. They offer a wonderful fishing spot in a preserved valley. You can also walk on the Camino de Santiago by following the Locquirec or Moguéric trails. In total, 13 stages are to be completed in Brittany, starting from the Morlaix bay. For a family outing, go to a unique place in France: the « Musée de l’Abeille Vivante et la Cité des Fourmis » (bees, ants and stick insects museum). From April to September, discover a living exhibition of the insects for an unforgettable moment in this small universe. If there is one building to visit in Le Faouëft, it is the « Halles » (covered market). It is one of the most beautiful in Brittany and is now used twice a month to host the market. As you walk through the town center, appreciate the village’s patrimony, with its many chapels and the church Notre-Dame de l’Assomption. The museum, located in the old convent dating from the 17th century, presents a collection of works created by local artists.
