Motorhome area of Bantanges, Bords de Seille (Saône et Loire)

Located less than 50 km from Chalon-sur-Saône and Mâcon and about 10 km from Louhans, Bantanges is a peaceful rural town in Saône-et-Loire, more precisely in the Bresse Bourguignonne region. On Monday mornings, go to the Louhans market: a must in the region. The stalls of the poultry market take place in the streets and squares of the town for a friendly and traditional atmosphere. Other local products are also sold, but most people come here for the poultry! It’s the perfect opportunity to taste roast or creamed Bresse chicken. Visit this pretty little town which houses a Hôtel-Dieu (with a fascinating collection of Hispano-Moorish and Nevers earthenware: unique in Europe) and admire the glazed roofs of the church. A stopover in Bresse Bourguignonne also means a walk along the Seille, a calm and winding river, following the hiking trails. The « Benoîte » path, near the campsite, runs alongside the river. Water rides are also possible: cruising, canoeing, kayaking… perfect for an outdoor outing. In the surroundings of Bantanges, a few tourist sites welcome you to experience simple and relaxing moments in the countryside such as the English garden « Beauvoir » (10 km). The garden offers its visitors a variety of perennials, shrubs and trees. In Bantanges, the church made of bricks is worth a visit.
