About forty kilometers from Bourg-en-Bresse and at the gateway to the Jura Mountains Regional Park, the town of Val Suran (gathering Saint Julien, Bourcia, Louvenne and Villechantria) welcomes you to a green and peaceful campsite by the river, only 500 meters from the shops. Starting from the campsite, follow the trails to discover the typical landscapes of the « Petite Montagne ». Visit several monuments during your stay: the abbatial church of Saint Pierre de Gigny (7 km from the campsite. Listed as a National Heritage Site, the church has remarkable elements dating from the Romanesque times. At the top of a rocky peak, the ruins of Oliferne castle (in Vescles - 28 km) overlook the Ain valley. Enjoy a great walk in nature with panoramic views. Others treasures in the « Pays des Lacs » and « Petite Montagne » region: the tower of Dramelay (14 km), the cave of La Balme d’Epy (6 km) and the Moulin de Pont des Vents (mill) to discover the making of flour. About thirty kilometers from the campsite, explore Lake Vouglans! With its emerald green waters where swimming is authorised, its water sports activities and its unspoilt nature, the lake welcomes you in a breathtaking landscape, typical of the Jura mountains. The third largest artificial lake in France also invites you to relax, give you a change of scenery and spend a good time with your family. For all the water sports activities, go to the nautical base of Bellecin and to the Grange du Pin outdoor activities center. There are also many fishing spots near the campsite.
