Motorhome area of Recey-sur-Ource (Côte d'Or)

Recey-sur-Ource is a typical village of Burgundy less than 70 kilometres north of Dijon. Discover the church Saint-Rémi, a Romanesque church built in the 13th century. The lower part was nevertheless built in Gothic style, which gives a nice contrast to the different sections of the church. While strolling through the village, round the corner of a courtyard and a typical house of Burgundy, visit the workshop of Laurent Soret, a gem-cutter whose creations will take you on a journey. The town is ideal if you are looking for a nature getaway. Set at the heart of the Forêts National Park, several hiking trails, each different one from another, start in the vicinity. The Montot and Lugny footpaths start right next to the campsite. You can also explore the Marais des Brosses, a botanical trail through the tuff marshes. Half of the trail is on an elevated footbridge, allowing you to discover the typical flora and fauna while respecting the environment, much to the delight of the black storks that migrate to the wetlands for the spring and summer. This is a protected species in France, but you may be lucky enough to spot one on your outing. The region is also world famous for its wines. The Côte d’Or department is part of the Burgundy vineyards and the producers of Crémant du Châtillonnais are located just a few kilometres from the campsite. In all, more than 80 wines of Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) and more than a hundred of labelled wines are to be found in the region. You will surely find one to refresh yourself or relax after one of your several excursions around the destination.
