Tourism / Discovery
Nestled between the Rhône River and the foothills of the Jura mountains, Serrières-en-Chautagne is the perfect destination for nature lovers. The recreational lake, popular in summer, is perfect for swimming, fishing, cycling, and family picnics.
The commune is home to one of Europe’s largest poplar groves, a vital green lung for the region. Marked hiking paths such as the Sentier des Mulets offer breathtaking views over the Rhône valley.
As for heritage, the Saint-Maurice Church (12th century) and Château de Château Denys, a former medieval stronghold, reflect the rich history of the village. Nearby, the Lac du Bourget, Abbaye de Hautecombe, and the charming village of Chanaz complete a delightful regional visit.
