You’re in the heart of the Combrailles, a natural and unspoilt region of the Puy-de-Dôme much appreciated for the diversity of its landscapes. One of the most famous is the Queilles meander, less than 30 km from the campsite. The lookout point offers a breathtaking view of the meander, a natural loop created by the river. Head for the mound and marshes of Saint-Pierre-le-Chastel, from where you can admire a magnificent panorama of the Sioule valley and the Chaîne des Puys. Less than 30 km from the campsite, many other sites are well worth a visit to fully enjoy the Combrailles: the Chemin Fais’Art and its sculpted Volvic stone monuments in Chapdes-Beaufort, the Fades Viaduct and the Collegiate church of Notre-Dame in Herment. For a refreshing outing with the family, head to the Aqua’Loisirs nautical base on the Fades-Besserve lake. You’ll find inflatable structures, fishing boats and licence-free boats for hire, stand-up paddles and canoes.
