Situated between Saint-Étienne, Lyon and Clermont-Ferrand, Montrond-les-Bains offers you a pleasant and relaxing stay. Montrond-les-Bains has become an important spa resort in the Loire, between the Forez and Lyon mountains. The hot waters drawn from a 500m deep geyser are appreciated for their mineral content and digestive virtues. The ‘’Iléades’’ thermal baths invite you to relax in the spa and hammam or to take part in the various aquatic courses in water at 32°. The fortified castle was built during the Renaissance to defend this important crossing point. It now houses a museum showing daily life in the Middle Ages: try on traditional clothes and observe the different models of the castle. The dungeon has been transformed into the ‘’Musée Postal du Forez’’, where you can see the evolution of the different means of communication throughout history, from the beginnings of writing to the new technologies of the 19th century. Outside the ramparts, visit the medieval garden, its orchard and vegetable garden full of medicinal herbs and aromatic plants. You can also take a walk in the flower garden for a fragrant stroll! Follow the walking and cycling path along the banks of the Loire for an enjoyable and agreeable time. The city offers many other activities, such as a casino, hot-air balloon flights, a cinema, a library…
