Tourism / Discovery
Only an hour from Clermont-Ferrand, make a stopover in the middle of nature in the lovely town of Ferrières-Saint-Mary, right next to the river and the hiking trails. Appreciate the tranquillity of this setting near the Parc des Volcans d'Auvergne.
Program of your stay: fishing, hiking, resting…
The Via Arverna (Way of St James) is crossing the village and promises you a peaceful walk along the Alagnon. You will see many landscapes and the Saint-Mary rock, at the entrance to the village. For some history, do not miss the three churches, one of which is the oldest in the Cantal and is classified as a National Heritage Site (Monuments Historiques).
Finally, enjoy the exceptional panorama on the Monts du Cantal from the Mont Journal (1180m).
The Ferrières-Saint-Mary educational path links the tourist accommodation park and the centre of the village with its shops. Its itinerary reveals the rich biodiversity of the surroundings with explanatory panels and works of art.
