Tourism / Discovery
Welcome to Aurillac, land of the « truffade » in the mounts of Cantal.
A stay in Aurillac means discovering a whole culinary universe! In the heart of the Cantal, taste the delicious AOP cheese of the same name. Try the « truffade » - traditional dish from Auvergne - and Salers meat for a 100% local tasting.
Follow the sightseeing tour that takes you through the historic centre and points of interest of this ancient city: the museum of Art and Archeology, the museum of the Volcanoes, the church of Saint-Géraud…
Discover some of the most beautiful panoramas of the Cantal mounts by following the « Route des Crêtes » (ridge road). This itinerary leads you to the Saint-Jean de Dône chapel, the Roquenatou chapel and an orientation table. Have a walk along the Gorges of the Jordanne river: immerse yourself in this wild and refreshing atmosphere.
In winter, enjoy the ski resort of Lioran (40 km) in the heart of the Auvergne Volcanoes Regional Park. Also open in summer, the resort offers many activities in this unspoilt setting.
