Saint-Vulbas is in the heart of the plains of Ain. It is a small town next to the River Rhône, 45 km East of Lyon. The well kept nature around the village makes is a great place for walks and relaxation in all seasons. There are marked footpaths and fitness trails to explore at your own pace: you can find 3 km intineraries here, and 10 km itineraries here. By bicycle, you can ride from la Balme-les-Grottes to Jons along the Via Rhôna. This 36 km itinerary veers away from the river slightly onto the Rhône balcony where you pass by authentic villages, castles and vineyards. Sights not to miss : the medieval town of Crémieu, the Heritage House Museum and Larina Archeological Site (Hyères-sur-Amby), Cingle Castle (Vernas) and Jons Dam. Head to the Sports and Aquatic Complex at Saint-Vulbas (Ain-pulse) for some refreshment. It has indoor and outdoor pools, a Norwegian river, a fitness center and a relaxation area (sauna, hammam, jacuzzi).
