Tourism / Discovery

Welcome to Gallocanta, a small village in the province of Zaragoza, in the heart of Aragon. This unique destination is world-renowned for its saltwater lagoon, one of the largest in Spain, and especially as a major stopover for migrating common cranes. Each year, in autumn and spring, thousands of cranes land along the shores of the lagoon, offering a breathtaking sight for bird lovers and photographers. The village has kept its authenticity and welcomes travelers with peace, simplicity, and hospitality. Marked trails let you walk or cycle around the lagoon at your own pace. Birdwatching huts and observation towers are scattered throughout the route. The Gallocanta Wildlife Interpretation Center provides exhibits to better understand the local ecosystem. Nearby, explore the historical towns of Daroca, Bello, and Tornos, as well as the scenic hills of the Sierra de Santa Cruz.
